I have spent my life in the horse industry starting out at the age of 9 as a rider,  progressing over the years to a working student, then coach as well as being a certified therapeutic riding instructor.

I have been interested in sports therapy since I was in my early 20's when my OTTB had regular bodywork done by the well known Myles Herman. I was fascinated at the results and the changes that it made in both his body and temperament and only wanted to know more and learn why and how.  Years later in 2017 I was able to finally fulfill my dream of becoming a certified sports massage therapist through the Canadian chapter of the internationally renown Equinology Program. In 2021 I wanted more knowledge in order to find the area of dysfunction and being able to bring the body back to complete homeostasis rather than just 'bandaid-ing' the muslce restrictions over and over again. I completed my 1st year Functional Osteopathic Practitioner Diploma through Animal International Osetopathy UK at the end of 2022.

I am known for bringing a kind, calm and understanding energy to all the horses I work with. I am a person who simply cannot learn enough, I am always looking to expand my knowledge and soak up any bits and pieces of information I can. I want to know as much as possible so that I can be as effective as possible in treating my clients. I feel like I do share a special bond with each and every one of them as they all have a way of responding and saying thank you during and after a session.

A typical session includes a full static & dynamic evaluation of posture, balance throughout the body, gait and movement, followed then by deep tissue manipulation/ palpation and work through the release of the different muscle depths, myofascial strokes as well as acupressure point releases are also used; and we finish off with some stretches and homework for the owner/rider.

I travel between Ladysmith and Port McNeil as well as the the Nothern Gulf Islands and I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to book your first session.
